PRISMACOLOR LIGHT POLLUTION
In this project students will explore color theory and apply those principles using "light pollution" or "color saturation" where object pick up colors from objects around them. They will learn how to layer and blend using prismacolor pencils.
CHARCOAL LOW LIGHT
In this project students will learn about "Chiaroscuro" or Light vs. Dark and apply those principles using an image containing two different areas of value. They will learn techniques using Charcoal on how to properly apply, pull the medium and blend.
EXTREME CONTRAST VALUE SCALE PAINTING
In this project students will begin to understand that a painting is made up of smaller increments. Students will use prior blending and value scale knowledge to create a "puzzle" type painting so they are able to work in smaller areas to create maximum detail.
Foreshortening and Extreme Angles
Students will explore how Foreshortening and Extreme Angles can create dynamic composition and create more interest in their work. Students will choose to work with any medium from the semester for this project.
